Fall in Burlington County

The Season Local Families Love

Autumn is when Burlington County really shines. Peak foliage arrives in mid-to-late October, the area's orchards open for apple and pumpkin picking, and small-town main streets host their best events of the year. Here is what to do while you are house hunting this fall.

Fall Foliage at Wharton State Forest

New Jersey's largest forest, right in Tabernacle and Shamong. Peak color lands in mid-to-late October. For a panorama of the Pine Barrens, climb the 60-foot fire tower at Apple Pie Hill and take in the autumn canopy.

Apple and Pumpkin Season in Medford

Johnson's Corner Farm runs its Fall Harvest Festivals on weekends through October, with apple picking, pumpkin hayrides, a 5-acre corn maze, and live music on Church Road in Medford. Locust Hall Farm adds a family-friendly pumpkin patch nearby.

Main Street Mount Holly Car Show

The historic Burlington County seat closes its downtown each September for classic cars, two stages of live music, and sidewalk vendors. It is a great chance to see Mount Holly's walkable main street in action.

Burlington City Waterfront Festival

Each September, a traveling boardwalk-style festival sets up along the Delaware River in historic Burlington City, with food, games, and live entertainment for the whole family against the water.

See Neighborhoods at Their Best

Fall is a wonderful time to tour communities: lawns still green, trees in color, and streets busy with the rhythm of school-year life. A Saturday at an orchard and an afternoon of open houses make a great day to see where you might live.

Plan a Fall Home Search

With inventory up and competition down, fall is one of the best seasons to buy in South Jersey. I can help you line up tours, compare towns, and make confident decisions before the holidays.
